
Rev. Dobson began his career serving as a pastor in both urban and suburban settings, where he preached sermons focused on love, equality, and justice. He connected with diverse congregations, fostering a message that resonated with audiences from various backgrounds.
Currently, he is on the Leadership Team of the New Jersey Coalition of Religious Leaders, where he advises on public policy, particularly concerning social justice issues.
Rev. Dobson is a founding member of the United Black Agenda, a coalition of leading Black-led civil rights organizations. Through UBA, he has achieved meaningful progress in areas such as criminal justice reform, housing equity, and voter rights. His advocacy has been key to passing laws that address affordable housing, support homeownership programs, reduce homelessness, improve education access, and combat discrimination in housing and real estate, protecting the civil rights of underserved communities.
Rev. Dobson is a prominent advocate for marginalized communities, especially in affordable housing. Over nearly 15 years at Fair Share Housing Center, where he has held roles as Deputy Director and now as Senior Special Advisor, he has helped build the organization into a nationally recognized leader in affordable housing. His expertise in coalition building has led him to partner with government agencies, developers, and community groups to implement sustainable housing solutions that benefit low-income individuals and families.
